Coding da Vinci
2019 - 2022
From 2019 to 2022 I worked as principal data curator for the cultural hackathon Coding da Vinci, the hackathon that brought German cultural institutions and creative technologists together with the goal of exploring open data in a creative and innovative context.
My tasks in the project focused on data management and consultancy for GLAMs (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums), offering advisory services and guidelines regarding metadata formats, controlled vocabularies and open licenses. I also worked on establishing the goals and strategy of the project, supervised Coding da Vinci scholars, and helped in the development of their training program.
Coding da Vinci was supported by the Kulturstiftung des Bundes as a joint project of the Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek, Forschungs- und Kompetenzzentrum Digitalisierung Berlin (digiS), Open Knowledge Foundation Deutschland and Wikimedia Deutschland.
